Pastor

REV. REGAN STOOPS

Rev. Regan Stoops began his service as Pastor at First Baptist Church of Gardner in January 2017. Regan is a graduate of William Jewell College with a B.A. in Religion and of Northern Seminary with an M.Div. He comes to FBG from Mount Pleasant, Iowa where he served as pastor for over 10 years.

Regan and Katie have been married for 21 years and have 3 boys. Carson is 19 years old and a student at KU, Jack is 17 and in 11th grade, and Hayden is 14 and in 9th. They love most sports and can be found playing whatever one is in season on their free time.

Katie teaches Kindergarten at Grandstar Elementary in Gardner. She too is a graduate of William Jewell College with a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. She loves playing sports with her boys, camping in their vintage Airstream, and cuddling up on the couch with their boxer, Ava, or watching the chickens run around.

Regan loves running - especially ultra marathons, camping, playing sports, cheering on the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks, playing guitar, and fixing the latest problem on their sons' cars.  He's a total extrovert so if you're ever around the church and want to pop in, he'd love it.

Church Secretary

MARCIA GAY

If you call or visit First Baptist Church of Gardner during the week, Marcia may be the first person you meet. Marcia has kept the church office running smoothly for years, and is always willing to help people get connected. Beyond her office duties, Marcia and her husband Jerry are very active in the church community.

Janitor

JERRY GAY

You may first meet Jerry as he holds the door and greets you on Sunday morning. But Jerry also serves the church as Janitor; making sure the building is clean and cared for. He also pitches in to help Marcia with bulletin and newsletter creation. When he's not serving at church, you can find Jerry working around the farm, tending to the chickens, or watching the Royals.
