WHAT WE DO

Worship

  • We join together to offer our time, our praises, our prayers, our lives to God.  He has created us, and sent His Son to die for us; therefore we respond by worshipping Him together.  Each Sunday and on many other days, we join for a time of celebrating and offering worship to God.  Hebrews 10:25 says, “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another…”

  • Romans 12:1 says, “And so, dear brothers and sisters,  I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”  We worship not only in singing and praying, but in living our lives to please God.  We worship with our lives both as a church family and as individuals.

Discipleship

  • Jesus said, “… go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.    Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

  • When we accept God’s gift of forgiveness through Jesus, our next step is to begin to follow Jesus with our lives.  Like His disciples, we must learn from Jesus in order to be more like Him.  Through studying God’s Word, spending time with Him in prayer, and sharing our lives with each other, we grow in our relationship with Jesus and are better equipped for life.

Fellowship

  • You weren’t made to be alone.  None of us were.  In fact, even God is community: 1 God with 3 persons of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  God invites us into the community of love that He is; we are made to love and be loved as God does.  So an important part of being the church is growing in our relationships with each other.  We need each other to grow, to support one another, to be family.

Missions

  • During His time on earth, Jesus didn’t just preach; he also met needs for people He encountered.  For some, Jesus healed physical problems; for others, forgave sins; and still others, He simply showed love by touching.  We too are called to show God’s love to our neighbors in our community and around the world.  Through missions, we try to help meet the needs of people, whether they be physical or spiritual.

  • Part of our mission as the church is to impact the world for Jesus.  Together as a church body, we help to change the world through supporting missionaries in other countries, like Haiti, with funds and prayer.  We also provide prayer and financial support to local and national ministries to help the poor, orphaned, and in need.

  • We show the love of Christ through meeting the needs of His children.

Outreach

  • Showing God’s love is important, and so is telling people about Him.  Many don’t know that there is more to this life than growing up, making money, and dying.  But God has created us for more, and He invites us to help share the story of His Son with those we come in contact with.  As His church, we reach outside of our walls to tell others about the grace and forgiveness offered in Jesus.  It is our responsibility as the church to point to Jesus as the answer to the deep need each person cannot fill alone.
